Bling Bling Brides!

Ohh lookie here!! :)

It’s been a while since i had last gone shopping for myself but now I just can’t seem to focus on my current shopping needs cuz I am ALWAYS thinking about what to buy for my wedding :D

Dubai shopping festival is on so this whole month is going to be about local shopping! Today I was at global village and whoever doesn’t know the place, its like an amusement park plus shops from other countries displaying their stuff. I went to the pakistan section and saw that some uncles were selling some nice silk and banarsi fabric which you can use for formals and is not available locally. Anyways, something else also caught my eye… Jewelry! Read the rest of this entry

Allow Me to Kill The Jury of Fashion

Who decides what we should wear and what we shouldn’t?

Its unfair to most of all so why do we still go about catching up with fashionable riots on the streets and compare our individual selves with someone we don’t even know probably?

I know – its like the tenth millionth time-th that someone might have brought “Fashion Freak – I’d wear anything!!! ” <– this up but why don’t we just quit and learn finally!

After I moved from my home place – where it was all about fashion; I was a 18-22 yer old stuck for quite a while in the chaos of Glam – lane. Everything was changing all the time, people were obsessed with flattery talk – “Oh My God that looks so nice on you, did you get it from there?? Amazing, I am wearing thatt brand and my style is unbeatable, all praise to me”!

Yes, that time when you wondered if someone really did look look at you and told you that you looked good/bad for real?! (I missed my mom who would just tell me to take the darn thing off and change into something that looked good on me)

Being one of the victim amongst countless other victimisses I could not wait to get out of the place and start over where I have now lived for three years and couldn’t care less if I wore the same pair of jeans for an entire week. OBV <– that kind of laid back attitude does have its drawbacks but at the end of the day even if I dressed up, it was for ME! How hard was that to understand?

After all that time now I will be going back and become the Mrs of my prince charming – to the same place where fashion is still raging fire and if you ain’t no where close it, you are definitely  inferior. God help me.

However, living the comfortable life of dashing my hand into the drawer and pulling out whatever comes and wearing it for indefinite hours, I have grown addicted not to be ordered around about what I SHOULD be wearing. Yes I will glitz and glam especially since it’ll be my wedding days and I will be looking my best at all times for at least a couple of months, something very different from what I have been doing lately, but I will do it for me and not what the latest brand has launched lately and changing my entire wardrobe to match precisely just that.

Its funny since I have been looking at the latest fashion for sure and actually do like them, but my entire wardrobe has gone haywire of including everything and anything – just the way I like it!

One thing I appreciate back home is the diversity of designers now who (a very positive change) create almost anything for ladies to select and choose from. They can stick to their roots of carrying something they know they can and not get lost in someone else’s world of materialistic madness. Yes we look up to the brands and fashion but it can’t define us, we need to define it.

I will wear what I can carry and look good in – not what everyone carries these days. <- One rule to bound myself to… Good luck for all the soon-to-be happily ever afters.
