How the Small Things say it all on Your Big Day!

Hi there!

First of all, a big shout out to Asiya at Aaina Bridal for noticing my little sweet escape from all the haphazard planning for my wedding. Love her colorful inspiring blog for all the eye candy I need to help make this big day easier!

Secondly, another big shout out to Paklinks – Guppustan for saving my bride-to-be life! No matter where you are, if you are the desi girl who wants an exciting wedding – gather all your tips from here! You can ask and ask and ask!!! No limits – promise! :)

So dedicating this little put-together for both the above … hope it helps for all my gorgeeus brides-to-be! 2012 – Lets do this!

I go through countless number of pictures everyday thinking about how my wedding setup will look like (obv subject to budget restrictions but then again no one can stop me and here is why). I have noticed – the most heart-throbbing pictures always end up being a capture of the most smallest detail possible in the entire setup! If you are as crazy as I am … you will love the following pictures and will see why I love them so much too!

After the pictures – I have added another checklist for all those ladies who wish to ‘add’ that extra flair to their weddings without spending millions!

A touch of desi-ness – totally rocks!

Ever thought that candles could be so magical? I mean how many times have we seen these at our neighboring general store? Look how adding candles to a Decor or “thaals” can totally ignite the atmosphere :)

Ever wondered why event management pros cost us a fortune? Will you believe it if I said because they gave everything a personal touch – a menu on your plate – a mixture of decorative glasses – things hanging from the roof preferably flowers – a flower centre piece on your table ! If we sit down and think about it … these are exactly the things why we hire someone to get done on our big day. Gosh! Remember – you might not be able to afford an event manager but you can defo afford personal touches – get a good friend and hand over a checklist of things and let the magic work – at the end of the day you will love the fact that everything you ever wanted was THERE on your wedding. Enjoy the delicacy :)

Invite people to a Ball!

All Courtesy for the images go to the amazing photographers and companies ! Massive love for everyone … I found them on this random page on Facebook which is pretty random but has such amazing pictures and ideas! Facebook Page

Time for the checklist – pretty much covering everything you see above but lets talk about saving money too :D

The Extra Something – Decor ideas:

- Do something different, whether its something small or something big – have your mind working to new ideas – something that will make you happy!

- Flowers, find one good florist and tie up with him for the entire event, yes we will all have decorators for our wedding day and they take care of bringing the flowers but I am talking about the florist who will supply you stuff for your mehndi thaals and decor around the house, rooms, your hairstyle :D

- Candles – need I say more? when you go out to shop, there are numerous stores and bazaars where you can find simple candles to the elegant/unique kind. Buy in bulk is all I can say :) They can be helpful for decorating your room (if your in laws have left this bit out) or again thaals and somewhere around the house – hey at least you can get really nice pictures out of them! Love flowers and candles going together.

- While you are buying candles also look for shops where they have cheap artificial but good looking jewelry, also consider brooches and such jewelry for your decorative items like thaals or hand them over to your decorator/vendor for the wedding ceremony along with some candles ! Demand them to work towards setting these up! See here is how it works – sometimes budgets have limitations and just for those extra touches decorators cost you a fortune – in any case you should have control over your own wedding, yeah fine the decorators have done their part – now add on to everything with your own – A Friend Here is Chocolate Heaven! Heck I would even buy big flower pots and give them over! Okay maybe not but defo for decorations outside my house :D Build up a nice rapport with your decorator to get things like these done.  :)

- After discussing the theme and all with your decorator, and finalizing the budget – talk about a couple of ideas, like giving your decorator menu cards to place on each table and setting up some nice elegant centre table decors or flowers on the table – make it sound like its small work … add a couple of thousand grands to buy the ticket home and walah! ;)

- Count the number of guests that will be coming, count the number of guests that are your direct relatives and/or closets friends. Yes you want to do something special for them too! Not that the others don’t count but here is how it works, get invitation cards printed out for everyone, contact some gift box/invite box makers and ask them for lets say 50 invite boxes …googeeus ones ….. and the rest can be folds or something. Ask for a sample of what you want first – See yourself saving money?

You can totally narrow this down too……… to something like maybe just friends …….or just for in-laws …………..or just relatives – your choice or get simpler folds of the same theme ! When they hand them over, just fill the boxes in with some chocolates or flowers or anything else and add your invitation cards to all. Done!

- Order Gift boxes and personalize each gift box! Add an extra little something something to it. I would add a clutch with every suit, a perfume with every male gift, maybe some chocolates or desi mithai or even a box of cupcakes for every family :) (I make the yummiets cupcakes and brownies btw so yeah if you can decorate them too – you’re good to go!)

- (Adding this post after getting another idea from gupshup – paklinks) How does a candy buffet sound? Well I am not the candy type but I originally thought about having a wedding cake and cupcakes but the colorful candy buffet idea is just soo appealing – Get packs of colorful candy and have a station/table/bar setup featuring this in glass pieces! I am thinking cupcakes too and a one tier on top! Talk about adding colors to your own wedding!

………….

This Blog really helps me thinking towards making my wedding fun! And that’s ALL that matters at the end of the day :)

Happy planning!
